Dr. (Phil) Zahra Reyhani Monfared studied Translation Studies in Iran and earned her Doctoral degree in Translation Studies, specializing in interlingual and intercultural communication, at the University of Hildesheim, Germany. With expertise in English, German, Persian, and Turkish, she combines academic insight with practical experience to explore how translated texts bridge Eastern and Western cultures. Her doctoral research focuses on hybridity and the sociocultural dimensions of Persian literature’s global transition, examining how these works are received in Western circles and contribute to world literature. Her broader research interests include the roles of migration and diaspora translators in shaping global narratives, the integration of AI in translation, and innovative pedagogical approaches for teaching languages, culture, and translation.
In addition to her works as a Translation Studies Scholar, she is an experienced lecturer and translator (German, English, Persian and Turkish). She expanded her academic career with lectures on Persian literature and translation at the University of Göttingen after teaching translation studies in Iran. Her teaching spans topics such as translation theories, literary translation, and intercultural communication. Alongside her teaching, she works as a freelance translator and collaborated on multilingual projects. During her Ph.D., she also contributed to the development of a translation platform at a startup, gaining valuable experience in applied technology and team collaboration.
Her dedication to education inspired her to establish the ROC Academy for Language, Culture, and Translation, offering professional training tailored for non-university learners. This Academy focuses on developing language and cultural competence, to equip individuals to excel in global and multilingual environments.
